CONFIDENTIALITY AND PRIVACY
All interview audio, video and transcription data will be saved in an encrypted secure server environment and any personally identifiable data will be anonymized using pseudonyms. Given the nature of this research, it is likely that you may disclose the name of an organization, which will also be anonymized using pseudonyms. All identifying codes that could connect you or your organization with their pseudonyms will be stored in a separate encrypted file from the audio, video and interview data.
Upon completion of the study, all video recordings will be securely deleted. Other data and project information will be securely deleted five years following the completion of the study to allow sufficient time for publication and other dissemination of research findings.
You may withdraw from the study at any point during the six months following our initial interview. You may also decline to answer any question that you don’t feel comfortable with. Upon completion of my dissertation, I will send you a summary report of my research findings and a link to my dissertation, should you wish to read it in its entirety!
Despite these measures to protect your confidentiality and privacy, there are some unlikely but potential limitations. For example, should you choose to waive your anonymity, be recognized in my dissertation, or should I be required by law to share the information.
If volunteer to participate in the study, I will ask you to complete a short demographic survey. This survey is 100% anonymous—you will not be asked for any identifiable information and your IP address will be automatically excluded from the data. I am collecting this information as I would like to ensure my research includes diverse voices. Completing this survey is voluntary and will not impact your eligibility to participate in the study.

I will be audio and video recording our interview and our conversation will be automatically transcribed using Otter.ai software. The reason I need to record the video is because we will be referring to your drawing and photo throughout the interview and during my analysis, I will need to be able to see what aspects of your diagram or photo your words are referring to.
